After graduation, he has lived in Italy and carried out various artistic creation activities in Milan and Carrara. So far, he has held solo exhibitions in many regions such as Europe andthe United States, and has also published many works in various group exhibitions or art fairs around the world. Isao Sugiyama, who settled in Italy in 1983, while absorbing and learning Western knowledge, has also been constantly thinking about the unique traditional culture in his own growth background. Compared with the Western idea of controlling nature, Orientals show more respect for nature and consider how to coexist. Sugiyama’s works present a quiet and introspective atmosphere, aiming to explore a relationship between humans and nature through creation, and also contain the author’s devout belief in nature and gods.
